Inspired by the the act of putting a care package together for my teenage son who was no longer living with us. The song first started out as a poem to include in the package.
Care Package
Love doesn’t need a package
Love is beyond ribbons and bows
Love is not contained in boxes
Love extends and grows
This gift is but a symbol of Love
A Love that knows no bounds
When these things are used and lost
The Love I give will still be around
The Love I give will still be found
With this orange may you know your sweetness.
With this flower may your heart know peace.
With this chocolate may you feel completeness
And the joy of sweet release.
May your path be smooth and rocky.
May you know the blessing of defeat.
Above all may you know the One Love,
The One Love that is complete.
Even words will pass away
But what they mean will stay
What they mean is what they say
